Holy Shrine War / Battle Empty Holy Shrine War / Battle

Holy Shrine Battles are pvp (player versus player) type fights. Holy Shrines are types of cities situated each in a Neutral Territory. Nations fight for them in Holy Shrine battles. Neutral Territories are territories which can be conquered and owned by one of the four nations. They are located in between the four nations. At the beginning, while a Holy Shrine is not owned yet by any of the nations, it has a green colour on the map. When a nation owns a Holy Shrine, the Neutral Territory / Holy Shrine has a similar colour to the nation’s colour on the map.
Every nation should tend to expand its territory, by attacking Holy Shrines.

The rewards for taking over a Holy Shrine:
- Your nation gets to control a new teritory
- All players of your nation can use that Holy Shrine for teleporting
- Members of the declaring guild can build a campsite in that territory + camps that already exist in that territory, stop loosing morale
- A small amount of fame and rank is received by all guild members

There are certain rules for Holy Shrine War battles:
- A guild needs 30 members and 150.000 guild fame to be able to declare war on an enemy Holy Shrine.
- Your nation needs to have a border with the Holy Shrine or own a Neutral Territory that is neighboring the one you wish to declare on.
- Every guild can only declare on one Holy Shrine a day.
- Declarations must be made 2 hours in advance of an attack.
- Holy Shrine battles take place between 19:00 – 22:00 GMT.
- Both nations can rally up to 15 heroes: up to 15 defending heroes and up to 15 attacking heroes.
- 3 heroes from each side enter in the battlefield at a time (so it’s 3 vs. 3), the rest are put in queue; when both a hero and his army die, the next one in line enters the battlefield.
- The first attacking hero that is rallied in the HS starts the 10 min. countdown, during which other heroes can be rallied inside for the attack.
- The first attacking hero must be a member of the attacking guild that declared the Holy Shrine.
- The actual battle lasts 20 min.
- The battle ends once the winning side kills all of the enemy army, when the fort in the center is destroyed or when the time runs out.
- A Holy Shrine can be won in one of two ways, either destroying the HS center building (the castle / fort in the middle of the HS battle map), or by killing all enemy troops and heroes before the time runs out.

Tips:
- First, people shouldn't have the habit of leaving heroes in Holy Shrines and forgetting about them (especially low level heroes). Holy Shrines are a battle zone, not a hotel or camp.
- No matter if attacking or defending, top heroes should always be in starting lineup (top 3).
- Troops in HS battles should be based on rival troops, as any type of units is weak towards some other. Cavalry is good for killing warriors, warriors are good for killing pikes and pikes are good for killing cavalry. Archers are a bad idea in HS battles (unless chinese t5 Chu-Ko-Nus), as they have low defense (carnage candy). Also for attack is good to have trebuchets, especially if hero has trebuchets bonus gear, as they can take down towers really fast in 1 or 2 hits (they are the best by far for killing archer towers), and can do serious damage to the castle too, but they are extremely slow and can be easily killed, so they need to be protected by other units. For defense, scorpions are sometimes used to kill the attacking trebuchets, but many times using a strong hero or some fast units to run out and quickly kill the enemy trebuchets works better.
- When facing a much stronger enemy or runners, you can try to go flag rush the castle / center. Units attacking the Holy Shrine fort / center will attack it for 1 damage per unit. A troop stack of 600 units will damage the HS fort / center for 600 damage regardless of its tier class or troop type (for example 600 t1 pikes will do the same damage as 600 t4 pikes). Siege weaponry are the exception to this rule and trebuchet type troops do extra damage to buildings. Aside from the central building there are 4 NPC controlled Archer Towers which attack enemy units. You can try using a “tanker” (constitution) hero to attract / tank the fire of the archer towers from the units, while they are flag rushing the fort / castle.
- On shrine battle map, there are lots of bugged spots, that make micro controlling your hero / troops more difficult; if this happens (when you click on a spot and your hero / troops don’t seem to react / move there), try spam clicking = clicking many times in the spot / area you want to send them / position them, until they react and go there.
- Starting heroes can use vine and other skills without problems, but 4th in line or any other after that, can't always use them regularly. One way to avoid that is by selecting hero + all units and hitting "Standby" after getting into battle, then "Quit", after that to go back in battle as fast as possible (by clicking on the battling heroes on top of the shrine, choosing your hero from the drop down list and clicking "Enter Battlefield"). Doing that should help about using skills in Holy Shrine battle.

Defending a Holy Shrine with a hero:
- teleport the hero to the Holy Shrine (see topic "Using Holy Shrines to Teleport")
- click on the Holly Shrine
- click “Garrison”
(A new window will open, showing the heroes of players from your own nation, that are already rallied to defend the shrine.)
- click “Rally”
- select the right hero
- click “Garrison the Holy shrine”
- wait till your hero arrives inside and keep checking to see when enemy heroes start countdown till battle

How to attack a Holy Shrine:
- click on the Holy Shrine you want to attack
- click “Attack”
(A new window will open, showing the heroes of players from your own nation, that are already rallied for attack.)
- click on “Rally”
- select the hero you wish to send
- click “Attack Holy Shrine”
- wait till your hero arrives in the Holy Shrine and countdown ends
